About Us
PhotoShelter™ was founded in 2005 by IT Professionals and Photographers who were looking to create a truly archival storage solution, while empowering the individual photographer.

Jeffrey Arnold, VP of Network Operations

Jeffrey Arnold is an 11 year veteran of the Internet industry. Most recently with Yahoo!'s Production Network Engineering Group, Jeffrey was one of the technical leads behind the world's busiest website. There, Jeffrey managed the network and security for over 100,000 devices, and over one hundred gigabits per second of Internet connectivity. Previously he was the Director of Operations for HotJobs.com, designing and managing every aspect of their corporate and production infrastructure. Jeffrey graduated from Syracuse University where he received a BS in Information Science, and was awarded the John R Weitzel Award for Information Systems Research.

Jeffrey spent Y2K in a data center, and eagerly awaits the year 2038.

Jason Burfield, VP of Application Development

Jason worked as a commercial and editorial photographer for many years for magazines like Sports Illustrated and Slam before replacing his cameras and lenses with computers and compilers. He created the AltPick.com website, and the Sportsshooter.com website (the largest Sports Photography site on the Internet), and acted as the lead system administrator for S2F Online, a web-hosting company that hosts many of the world's top photographers.

Jason has over 1 TB of photos of his son, Dylan, and rides a Harley BMW KTM.

Thomas S. Chin, VP & Chief Scientist

Thomas Chin began coding professionally at the age of 12, creating software for embedded and automation systems. While completing his Master's in Computer Science from Columbia University, Thom began his tenure at HotJobs.com, where he became the Chief Scientist. He was responsible for the development of the key technologies and application design for internal and external systems which enabled the site to grow under the weight of millions of jobs and resumes, spurred in part, by the company's multiple Super Bowl commercials.

Thom's native language is C, and he finds English to be an imprecise form of communication. He possesses Ultimate Power.

Allen Murabayashi, CEO

As a founding employee and Senior Vice President of Engineering at HotJobs.com, Allen aided in the massive growth of a 4-person startup to a publicly held company with over 675 employees. He oversaw a staff of 50 engineers, and was responsible for the development of HotJobs.com, Softshoe (a private label job board), and CIO (an internal CRM system).

Allen's love of photography started while in junior high school in Honolulu, where he was a member of the Photo Club. He suffers from a chronic inability to load film into a developing tank, and consequently hails the digital revolution. To the relief of his parents, he is a graduate of Yale University.

Allen flosses every day.

Grover Sanschagrin, VP of Sales & Marketing

Grover Sanschagrin is Vice President of Marketing for PhotoShelter, and Executive Producer for SportsShooter.com. His experience with online productions also include major roles with ChicagoTribune.com, the Quokka Sports Network (which included NBCOlympics.com and FinalFour.net), Altpick.com, and web hosting company S2F Online. Sanschagrin studied photography and photojournalism at the Rochester Institute of Technology and Ohio University.

A teenaged Grover accidentally set the family restaurant ablaze after his one and only experiment with a cigarette.
