LAUNCH YOURSPACE ONLINE PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT
Photographers everywhere can now submit photos for display at LOOK3 & online
Charlottesville, VA, June 1, 2009
-- LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph today opened submissions for YourSpace
Online - a new feature that will enable photographers worldwide to
participate in this year's festival. Photographers everywhere may
submit images to be projected live via large screens at the festival
and displayed in online galleries as well. Images will be reviewed
by special guest curators, including David Griffin, Director of Photography
for National Geographic. PhotoShelter is powering the image submission
process as well as the website where selected images will be displayed,
at http://pa.photoshelter.com/c/
Submission is free and requires a free
PhotoShelter Starter account. Participants may submit up to 3
images for consideration and should represent each photographer's
interpretation of this year's theme, which is "fortune."
Instructions can be found here: http://pa.photoshelter.com/c/
YourSpace Online will also use PhotoShelter's
embeddable slideshow tool, so participants and photography lovers can
easily grab the code for the YourSpace Online galleries and embed the
flash slideshows in their own blogs and websites.
In its third year, the LOOK3 Festival expects another weekend of sold-out attendance and thousands of additional spectators June 11-13 in Charlottesville, VA. Taking place in venues throughout the downtown area, the LOOK3 Festival will celebrate the careers of legendary photographers, emerging talent and the best work from the past year, from photojournalism to fine art. The historic Downtown area will be transformed for 3 days into a "living image" with thousands of photographs projected onto buildings, hung in the trees, and on display in all the galleries. Highlights of the three-day Festival include gallery exhibitions and interviews with renowned photographers Sylvia Plachy, Martin Parr, and Gilles Peress; "Shots" and "Works" two nights of exceptional new work by a selection of photographers from around the world, projected onto a giant screen in a covered, outdoor concert arena.
