NYC Photoworks: Workshops & portfolio reviews

PhotoMetaData NYC Photoworks is one of PhotoShelter's newest partners - their mission is to bridge the gap between photographers and photo editors (Sound familiar? That's why we like these guys.) They've assembled over 60 editors from major publications to do portfolio reviews, and photographers can get their work in front of 14 of them over 2 days. They'll be using PhotoShelter in many ways so you need not be in NYC to participate! They're doing some amazing workshops for great hands-on learning too, with top photographers like Mark Asnin, Rob Howard, and Ron Levine.

Bye Buy

Disable Buy Label You might have used our embeddable images in your blogs and webpages -- they are a great way to provide an automatic link back to your PhotoShelter account. Previously, if the image was priced, the word "BUY" would appear in the lower border. A number of users thought that this was a bit too "commercial", so we have now made it optional.
  • From the Photographer Area, click on an image in your archive/gallery
  • Click "Get Link"
  • Click "options"
  • Check "Disable Buy button on priced images"

Local Grant Winner: Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails

Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails In May, we launched the PhotoShelter Stimulus Plan to provide local grants for photography events and activities, and we were deluged with amazing applications. Our first winner for June 2009 is PhotoShelter member Christina Frain, who will be leading a series of girl scout treks this month that bring together high adventure, outdoor activity and creative projects. The girl scouts will travel to Chaco Canyon, the Great Sand Dunes National Park, and the mountains above Telluride, CO. PhotoShelter is helping equip them with cameras and a PhotoShelter account, which they'll use to sell photo products from their adventures to raise money for their organization.
