Alan Look is an independent photojournalist and photographer with a standing assignment to shoot sports events for The Normalite family of weekly newspapers.
In his spare time, he keeps busy making images of animals, automobiles, nature, and other items of interest.
Alan likes simple, well exposed images that are full of detail...showing you the detail you see every day, but may never notice.
Alan has been a working photographic professional since 2000, although he has previous experience in photo labs and first picked up a camera over 40 years ago.
Alan has the equipment and ability to shoot 35mm traditional (film) and digital. Glass size ranges from 28mm to 600mm. Complimented with lighting gear and computer gear, he can get top quality images and transmit images on deadlines.
Alan specializes in sports and focuses on volleyball, basketball and football. He also shoots other sports including baseball, softball, golf and soccer.
The teams Alan covers consistently include: Illinois State University Redbirds, Illinois Wesleyan Titans, Ridgeview Mustangs, Normal Community West Wildcats, Normal Community Ironmen, University High Pioneers, El-Paso Gridley Titans, and the Lexington Minutemen. I also follow the Tri-valley Vikings and the Bloomington Raiders when the time exists.
Alan's images have graced the covers of books and magazines. He has also been published inside Sports Illustrated, Sports Illustrated for Kids, The Wall Street Journal, Street & Smith, ESPN.com, Lindy's, CBS publications, NCAA publications, regional and local magazines, and has shot assignments for wire services.
Alan's sports photography can be licensed here on PhotoShelter using the no haggle pricing or through Icon Sports Media, Inc. His non-sports imagery can be licensed right here on PhotoShelter using the no haggle pricing.
Prints of selected images are available here.
