A hungry customer counts out payment to a young girl selling chicharron. Although it is one of the more popular snacks, it is an acquired taste and is far from healthy. The single-serving size bags contain salty round chips that have the consistency of Styrofoam. They are from small nuggets of pig skin and fat that puff up and expand as they are deep fried.
