Many people are shy and avoid cameras altogether. Although she's hiding her face, her eyes belie her amused surprise at being chosen as a model. One of the unique elements of the traditional dress of Chajul is the head-piece. A long sash is wrapped around itself to create a thick rope-like crown and then decorated with two colorful tassels in the front.
