David Calvert is a visual storyteller in Reno, Nev.

He plays slow-pitch softball, likes clean backgrounds and smokes old stogies (short, but not too big around). His passion for photography is matched only by his love for self-deprecating humor and fantasy baseball.

He has been recognized by the Associated Press, Eddie Adams Workshop and Missouri Photo Workshop for excellence in visual storytelling. And the Gannett Corporation, who awarded him a Pulliam Fellowship at The Arizona Republic.

David is the team photographer for the Reno Aces. And tournament photographer for the Reno-Tahoe Open. In addition, his clients include Bloomberg News, USA Today, The New York Times, VIA Magazine, ZUMA, Chronicles of Higher Education, MLB.com, Wells Fargo, Renown Health, The Davidson Academy and the National SCRABBLE Association—do you know what a Chufa is? David does.

When David isn’t in Reno, he is in Half Moon Bay, Calif. soaking up the fog and eating organic tomatoes.
