Every year the seasonal migration of livestock to winter pastures in The Bardenas Reales (Navarre, Spain) is made. Come from Salazar in Roncal Valleys and other navarrese areas, the entry of cattle is celebrated from ancient times (year 882). This tradition was created as a privilege or payment to these valleys in the war against Muslims.

Come from Salazar in Roncal Valleys and other navarrese areas, the entry of cattle is celebrated from ancient times (year 882). This tradition was created as a privilege or payment to these valleys in the war against Muslims.
Nowadays there are no people living in this reserve, but this area has traditionally been used for migration activities of livestock. About 90,000 sheeps are moved into this area for winter grazing after being moved up to the Pyrenees on summer.
