Feb. 2, 2008 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nev.: In the main event of UFC 81: Breaking Point, Antonio "Minotauro" Noguiera battled through two grueling rounds of punishment to submit former two time heavyweight champion Tim "The Maine-iac" Sylvia. In the opening round, the 6'8 Sylvia utilized his long reach to jab at the shorter Noguiera. As the round came to a close, Sylvia blasted his opponent with a left hook, right straight combination that put him down. Time expired as Sylvia began to pound away. In the second round Noguiera continued to eat punches and had his head rocked back violently by a right cross. In the third round, Noguiera miraculously turned the tables pulling guard and applying a tight guillotine choke forcing the tap at 1:28 to become the new interim UFC heavyweight champion. "Minotauro" now claims the distinction of the only heavyweight to hold both the UFC and PrideFC heavyweight titles. « less
