About Geoffrey King Photography
Geoffrey King was born in San Francisco and was raised in the nearby city of Vallejo. Geoff is a graduate of Vallejo public schools, Diablo Valley Community College, UC Berkeley, and Stanford Law School. This fall, Geoff will begin work as a staff attorney at a civil liberties nonprofit in the Bay Area, where he will represent a core constituency of journalists, activists and artists in furtherance of their First Amendment rights.
Geoff has photographed political protests across the United States and in Britain since the first day of the Iraq War. In 2005 he traveled to Bosnia to document the ongoing search for missing persons in the context of the tenth anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre. Geoff's first book, "Such a Bittersweet Day: The Marriage Equality Movement in the Wake of Prop 8" will be released in August of 2009.
Geoff is self-taught in photography.
