Integrated Ethanol Biodiesel Production Plant, Brazil

| 6 photos | All Galleries > Back to Energy: Fossil Fuels & Alternative Renewable Energy Sources Stock Photos

Barralcool, in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil, is the world's first integrated ethanol, biodiesel, and sugar refinery plant. Refined sugar and ethanol is produced from sugar cane. The ethanol is mixed with animal fat or soy bean oil to produce biodiesel and glycerine. Bagasse, left over cane stalks, is burned as biomass fuel that generates steam and electrical energy to run the plant. Contact Green Stock Media to view additional images from this photo shoot.
