About JASON HOUSTON PHOTOGRAPHY, LLC

I have worked for my entire career as a photographer and with others working in the photography industry. To each
new job I bring the insight and experience gained from nearly twenty years of freelance assignment work as well as
my tenure as a magazine and book picture editor; several years of in-house corporate art direction and design; and
most recently, the opportunity to share my work through galleries, museums, and other public venues. I have served
as a reviewer at portfolio reviews for organizations including Fotofest, Center, PhotoLucida, ICP, and PhotoAlliance
and I have judged for several photography awards programs including the Lucies. I teach digital and documentary
photography for IS183 School of Art, and am an advisory board member for Blue Earth Alliance.

The majority of my time now is split between longer-term personal projects or assignments on social and environmental
issues for editorial and NGO clients, and my role as Picture Editor for Orion, a non-profit, non-commercial magazine
about our relationships with the places we live.
