About Josalee Thrift
I've worked as a full-time photojournalist for over four years at the Republican-American, a daily newspaper in Waterbury, Conn. I graduated with a degree in journalism from Boston University, where I also had the opportunity to shoot for about a dozen New England newspapers when I was in Washington, DC for a semester through BU's Washington Journalism Program.
Over the years I've received recognition and awards for daily news photos and a long-term story on Marie Tyrrell, an inspirational woman who I followed around for three years until her death of lung cancer.
One thing that I value the most about being a photojournalist is the opportunity to live just an hour or so in so many people's lives, from celebrities to the homeless. My world gets bigger and bigger every day.
I shoot EVERYTHING. So if you have something or someone that you want to be photographed, and photographed well, and edited fast, contact me.
