Nestled in the beautiful Coast Mountains east of Vancouver, Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park protects a valuable watershed and patch of old-growth forest. In addition to Chilliwack Lake, the park also includes several smaller alpine lakes and mountain peaks of BC's Coast Range that are popular with day hikers and overnight explorers.
The Chilliwack Lake area was first discovered by Europeans in 1855 when the Hudson's Bay Company upgraded an existing First Nations trail, joining nine villages between Vedder Crossing and Chilliwack Lake. Chilliwack Lake is now a popular camping and fishing destination for residents of Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.
