Howe Sound is North America's southernmost fjord, a magnificent area surrounded by soaring peaks that rise out of the ocean. Howe Sound extends from West Vancouver north to Squamish, and is Vancouver?s prime outdoor destination for boating, camping, hiking, climbing and many other recreational activities.
In addition to these uses, Howe Sound is a major transportation route for the coastal communities of southwest British Columbia. The scenic Sea to Sky Highway (BC Highway 99) travels along the shore of Howe Sound, linking Vancouver with Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton. There are also five BC Ferries' terminals located in the area that serve Bowen Island, the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver Island.
