Long Beach, located between Tofino and Ucluelet in Pacific Rim National Park Reserve on Vancouver Island, is a popular destination for over one million visitors each year. Long Beach is named after the 16 km (10 mi) long sand beach of Wickaninnish Bay.
Tofino, a small village of 1650 residents, sits at the end of the Esowista Peninsula on the edge of Clayoquot Sound, a designated UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. A popular tourist destination, Tofino's summer population expands to many times its winter size as it attracts beachcombers, nature lovers, campers, surfers, kayakers, whale watchers, and fishermen alike.
