ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jimmy Williams is a fine art and commercial photographer based in Raleigh, North Carolina. After completing his studies in Visual Design at North Carolina State University, Williams opened an independent studio where he established himself as a successful and award-winning advertising photographer. Now, more than thirty years later, Williams dedicates much of his time nurturing and growing his fine art photography collection into significant bodies of work.
Much of Williams' fine art photography focuses on fleeting moments rich with emotional dialogs. His two most recent series, Tuscany and Music Makers, are natural extensions of this previous work, purposefully expanding on meaningful themes like preservation and perseverance. Williams’ images capture people and places as they are and as he sees them. The photography allows the subject to tell a story honestly, without pretense or expectation.
Williams' photography has been well received by the fine art and publishing community. Most recently, Williams was awarded Outstanding Achievement in Photography at the 2008 International Spider Awards and 2nd place Deeper Perspective Photographer of the year at the 2008 Lucie Awards Gala at the Lincoln Center, NYC. Other recent accolades include: 1st place at Center’s 2007 Singular Image Awards, Outstanding Fine Art Photographer of the Year at The International Spider Awards 2004, and multiple features in Photo District News, B&W, Communication Arts Photo Annual, and Graphis Photo Annual.
ABOUT THE WORK
The giclée prints are personally created by the artist to ensure the highest standards of quality.
Every image is printed on white cotton-rag watercolor paper; 100% acid and lignin-free. Inks are 100% pigment-based.
All gallery prints are released in series of 25 limited edition prints. They are signed, titled and numbered by the artist directly below the image along the bottom white border. Please note: published print size represents overall final size, which includes white surrounding border.
Note: Prices are subject to change. As prints within an edition are sold, prices will increase accordingly.
