About Mark Smart
Photography has been part of my life for many years. I began taking pictures 20 years ago, and used to develop my own shots in a darkroom my brother bought me - thanks Dan. In 1999 I got my first digital camera (a DC120), and I have been experimenting with the medium ever since. I love to push the boundaries of art, and enjoy experimenting with light and colour - the results of which can be seen in the Light Adjusted Gallery. However, I take equal pleasure from simply recording what I see, and letting the beauty of the image speak for itself.
I am based in Swindon, a large town in the south of England on the borders of the Cotswolds, and close to both London and Bath, but I travel regularly both within the UK and abroad, and my photographs reflect the environments I visit.
I am a graduate of Camberwell College of Art in London and have taught art at Swindon College.
