Industrial worker making a temperature reading of the liquid aluminum during the process of producing aluminium. HYDRO in Norway is one of the major aluminum producers. The aluminum potline is very energy intensive; in Norway hydroelectric power plants produce a relatively low cost and renewable electric power supply for industries such as this. Recycling of aluminum requires only 10% of the electricity required for making aluminum from aluminum oxide ore.
