The Blue-and-yellow Macaw (Ara ararauna), also known as Blue-and-gold Macaw. Both male and female scarlet macaws care for their young. Scarlet macaws have an extended period of dependence on their parents, with perhaps some significant learning occurring before they become sexually mature and independent.
