The pied tamarin (Saguinus bicolor) is endemic of the Manaus region. The head-flicking, when a pied tamarin quickly moves the head region in an upward motion, occurs with tonguing, and is used to communicate recognition, anger, or curiosity. Photograph from Ecopark, Negro river, near Manaus.
