Ciranda Folkloric Festival

Manacapuru it is the third most populous county in Amazonas State, almost 100,000 inhabitants. It is 84 km far from Manaus according to the road measurement, however, by river it is 102 km far. Its has an easy access anyway. It is known as the Solimões Little Princess, founded in February 15th 1786 in a Mura indian village. In July 16th 1932 it was declared city and has been growing since then.

Manacapupru strongest cultural feature is the Ciranda, whose festival takes place in the last week of August. The Festival brings together rhythms, dances, songs, allegories and multicolored fantasies that call the visitor´s attention.
