Originally from Lymington, UK, Sally now travels extensively all over the world photographing the international professional yacht racing circuit.
With a work history ranging from within the third world villages of Zimbabwe in 1994, ski race photography and camera operator for BBC in the European Alps in the mid 90's, set-design and stage lighting in London, and husky sledging in Arctic Norway, Sally's career is now firmly grounded in the world of professional yacht racing.
A sailor from a very young age, she has combined her knowledge of the sport with her passion for photography.
Ex- award winning picture editor for Yachting World Magazine in the UK, Sally's yacht racing photography career has covered the high-end pro circuit full-time for the past 9 years. In March 07, the magazine British magazine Professional Photographer profiled her career and life as a professional freelance photographer in the world of pro yacht racing.
"To be able to combine my passion for images, with a sport I know and love, is ideal. The hard work involved on so many levels to create the specific images I strive to achieve is one of the most enjoyable parts of the challenge. The other challenge is combining your vision with that of the client, to produce an end result that spans everyone's needs and expectations, with of course, that little bit extra. A challenging, and at the same time, highly rewarding, career. "
Her knowledge of the yachting photographic industry is wide-ranging - she has worked with the best in the world. She continues to travel worldwide all year round, bringing the fascinating, emotional and exciting world of pro yacht racing to the public through her stunning images.
Sally has just recently finished a 15 month contract as the official photographer to PUMA Ocean Racing, where she followed the crew and the boat around the world in it's quest to conquer the world's toughest fully crewed yacht race, the Volvo Ocean Race 2008-09.
