Ornithopod and Theropod Dinosaur Tracks in the Dakota Sandstone. These tracks were made on a coastal plain beside the Western Interior Seaway during the Cretaceous period, about 100 million years ago. The ornithopods were quadrapedal herbavores, about 20-30 feet long. The smaller theropods were bipedal carnivores.
