Ventura, California, July 20, 2009 - At approximately 4:30 pm, a fire broke out near Shell Road of Highway 33 in Ventura, quickly engulfing many of the wells own by Aera Energy whose operations cover about 4,300 acres in Ventura County. Ventura County Fire Department spokesman Capt. Ron Oatman said last night that fire officials still did not know the exact cause of the fire. They were investigating whether a power line might have triggered the blaze.
