Lidia Ferreira da Costa, 42 old years, she is illiterate. She lives in a neighborhood known as Invasao dos Padres (invasion of the priest), predominantly with blockhouse that houses will be removed due to construction of the Belo Monte hydroelectric. Belo Monte is one of about 60 hydroelectric projects that the Brazilian government has planned for the  Amazon in order to generate electricity for the your economy expanding, ie basically for industries. In other side, environmentalists and indigenous groups oppose the dam. According to them, the Brazilian Amazon, which houses 60% of the largest forest in the world, is threatened by the rapid development of the country..Considered the most important work of the Growth Acceleration Program (PAC) of the federal government, works of Belo Monte consumed so far R$ 5 billion, which represents only 20% of its budget, which is expected to reach R$ 26 billion until the beginning of plant operation in 2015 and already causes serious social and environmental impacts in the city of Altamira besides the increasing migratory flows in search of employment in the construction
