Five days after super storm Sandy, Manhattan's Lower East Side remained without power or heat, and many normally over crowded areas looked like a ghost town. Official government aid and loose knit groups of local volunteer activists are trying to make sure that everyone who needs food, water, or medical attention gets it. Volunteers travel around lower Manhattan with bicycles to distribute food and water to those in need.
