A police officer picks up a motor scooter after an accident on one of the main streets in Malé, Maldives on March 8, 2009. The Maldives has the highest standard of living in all of South Asia.  Despite the fact that the longest distance on the island is 1.7 kilometers (1 mile) motorcycles and cars now clog the streets of the capital.
