Taxi driver Jose Alcocer waits for customers crossing into the city from Mexico on August 19, 2010 in Laredo, Texas. Alcocer claims to have made eight to ten trips per day into Mexico by American tourists before the start of the increase in border violence in recent years. Now he says he is lucky to make two or three. "We don't even make enough for beans," said Alcocer.
