Santa Barbara, Calif., May 5, 2009 - A helicopter dumps its payload of water on the Jesusita Fire in Mission Canyon north of Foothill Road. Firefighters and at least two helicopters continued to battle the blaze through the night. Santa Barbara, Calif., May 5, 2009 - A helicopter dumps its payload of water on the Jesusita Fire in Mission Canyon north of Foothill Road. Firefighters and at least two helicopters continued to battle the blaze through the night. According to David Sadecki with the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the fire began at around 1:45 pm today near the popular Jesusita Trail near Inspiration Point in San Roque Canyon. As of midnight more than 420 acres had burned and about 1,000 homes were evacuated, with about 2,000 threatened.
