Women stand right up against a police line during a demonstration on March 6, 2009 in Malé, the capital of the Maldives. They are protesting the low prices that fisherman receive from the government cooperative. After the 30 year dictatorship of Maumoon Abdul Gayoom came to an end in October 2008, both citizens and the police are adapting to new found freedoms under democracy.
