Ten were transported to the hospital in the moments following the gunfire.... Scenes from Tucson, Arizona in the days following a mass shooting that left six dead and [number] injured. The shooter, identified as Jared Loughner, was captured at the scene and charged in federal court on January 9th, 2011. Among the injured was democratic congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. The dead included a federal judge, a nine year-old girl, and several septaugenarians who had all come to see the congresswoman at one of her 'Congress on the Corner' events.
