Limestone Cape at Sunrise, Shirasaki, Wakayama, Japan
Shirasaki is famous for the limestone formation of a cape since the early period in Japan. There is a poem, a Waka, read at this site, making a farewell to the place as an anonymous poet promises to return on a big boat and ask the cape to remain beautiful. Tomoko Yamamto set this poem to a song of solo voice with piano accompaniment, which she will sing as part of her multimedia concert, titled "Water Songs and Water Landscapes"
