Mr C. B. Rai holds the letter the community wrote to the DGHC in 1990 asking for a road to be constructed to the region. Even though they are only 15km away from Darjeeling town, the trip took several hours and was only possible on foot. Now with the road built, people can get their tea, ginger, milk, and other products by jeep in an hour and a half.
