Confederate
The Confederate flag flutters in tandem with the United States Flag, and South Carolina flag above the dome of the South Carolina Statehouse, in Columbia S.C., Wednesday, April 12, 2000, as lawmakers in the senate prepare to vote on a bill to remove the Confederate flag from the top of the State House dome. The bill passed by a by a majority vote of 36 to 7 and the flag was removed on Saturday, July 1, 2000.
