BIRD FLU
28 March 2006 - Freshly killed chickens and ducks are displayed for sale at an outside street vendor in the Mekong River city of My Tho in Vietnam. Despite the claims of the Vietnamese government that all chickens and ducks in the country, nearly 5 million, were slaughtered in an attempt to halt the spread of the bird flu virus, in the rural villages of the Mekong Delta, chickens and ducks, both dead and live, can be found for sale at the markets.
