  • 08 November 2008, Rosalyne Mathias, 60, crushed by the emotions, she takes a moment to hug the tree that grew at the exact spot where she aborted, 43 years ago, after having made a circle of cedar leafs around the tree. After many sexual agression between age 15 and 17, she got pregnant. Although, he found some precious stones a few years ago and managed to send the money in his family, he has found almost nothing for the last 2 years. His agricultural background permit him to survive as he farm some rice, corn and maniok between his mining activities. He lives with his wife while their children stay with family in Fianarantsoa.   • Friday June 01 2007. Sahara, Tunisia. Algerian Rebayas woman building shelter from branches she has collected a few kilometers around camp while her sick child is resting in the sand. Temperature can reach 50 to 55 Celcius degrees in the summer. The shelter keep their few belonging and give them a break from the hot sun and windblowing sand storms. ..Hundreds of Rebayas families crossed the borders during the algerian civil war and have a traditional way of life, living all year long in the desert. Many children suffer from vitamin deficiencies and anaemia due to a loss of traditional feeding habits. ..As more and more motorized tourists (4X4, quad, motocross) go in the desert to have fun, the hunting games from which fed Rebayas are more difficult to hunt...A canadian nursing teacher go in the Sahara with five of her students to give healthcare to Algerian Rebayas nomads. 150 Km from the nearest Tunisian village, they travel by camels to get to the Algerian nomads refugees. They are giving basic health care and health education to these families. The algerian refugees live in the desert with their camels and sheeps herd, building shelters from branches and changing camp every months or so. Being paperless and living away from settlement, they have very few access to health care, although tunisian health system accept to give basic health care when they go in town, a few times a year. Their ancestors fed from game's stomach as well as the fresh meat, to have a more balance diet...A canadian nursing teacher go in the Sahara with five of her students to give healthcare to Algerian Rebayas nomads. 150 Km from the nearest Tunisian village, they travel by camels to get to the Algerian nomads refugees.
