A photo essay on how the people of Madagascar lived the recent presidential election. They all remembered the last one wich have seen the country paralysed for many months after an almost civil war, in 2002.

The day before the presidential election, member of the community prepare the polling station by making voting booth, electoral list, ballot paper and ballot box. After everything is set they guard the polling station all night long, ready to open on the election day...These procedures aim at avoiding the events of the last presidential election held in November 2001 and the controversies which followed. The two candidates had then proclaimed themselves victorious after the first turn. The supporters of former president Didier Ratsiraka occupied the capital, pro-Ravalomanana, which did paralysed the country during months.
