After a long day of skirmishes with the Taliban an air strike was called on a compound thought to contain an enemy firing position. After the explosions the British and Afghan troops moved into the destroyed compound where they found 3 dead fighters and captured 2 more who were trapped in their collapsed bunker. The captured men both received medical treatment from the British and were given water by the Afghan soldiers they had been fighting only minutes before. A number of weapons were captured including Kalashnikov assault rifles, rocket propelled grenade launchers and war heads and a belt fed machine gun. The soldiers of 1 Royal Anglian have been fighting the Taliban in the area for more than 3 months; this constitutes their most successful capture of weapons and enemy fighters.
