The images in this gallery were taken in the summer of 2007 to document a project for Winrock International, a US-based NGO: African Women Leaders in Agriculture and the Environment (AWLAE). The photos originally appeared in a special publication put out by Winrock to celebrate the successes of the program, which began in the early 1980s. The trip took me originally to East Africa into Kenya and then across southern Uganda to the Congo Border. After completing my assignment in the jungle, it was off to the West coast; checking into Ghana's bustling capital Accra. The trip ended in Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast).
