Murillo  is a former leader of the United Self-Defence Forces of Colombia (AUC) paramilitary group operating in Colombia who started working for the Medellín Cartel and then the Los Pepes, an organization that pursued Pablo Escobar, and finally demobilised as leader of the paramilitary blocs, the Cacique Nutibara Bloc and the Granada Heroes Bloc.
