  • 27 march 2009 - Joliette, Qc. Canada. The photoreporter/writer waiting for his train to take him to Parent. Parent is a little village 400 Km into the forest north of Montreal. Once a vital stop along the transcanadian railway, the village survive because of what's left from the forest industry. Symbol of an era where men took the train in the town around Montreal, to work as lumberjack in the northwoods, passenger train stations on the way to Parent are only a glimpse of that era. But Parent still live in link with the train and its schedule. Medication, post and many passenger transport to the nearest hospital still depend on the train. 3-4 hours of a rough ride on a forest road are the other alterantive to reach La Tuque or Mont-Laurier.
