Guatemala and Hurricane Stan(105 images)

Hurricane Stan set off floods and mudslides in 2005 that killed hundreds of people in Central America. Most of these images were made in the weeks after the devastation occurred. Others were made during a revisit in the Spring of 2007.

Xicay said everyone in his family, 19 people, were killed when a massive mudslide covered the village of Panabaj on October 5. He also lost all of the horses with which he earned a living. Xicay has been living in a church shelter, but was told the shelter will close at the end of the week, and he has nowhere else to go.
