The world we live in today is basking in difference. It is easy to draw comparison between east vs. west, organization vs. chaos, dictatorship vs. democracy and so on. The world we share is a vast and diverse place full of polarization and divergence. The globalized world is forcing us to be faced with new challenges never before seen by our predecessors and due to new technology and the media's influence we are becoming more aware of the pluralism we are a part of.
Instead of therefore focusing our attention on our dissimilarity, which leads to conflict and negative outcomes, we can try and dwell rather on the similarities that exist among our many cultures and learn from one another. In our capitalist dominated world, consumerism has taken form and spread to its four corners. Markets have sprung throughout and taken similar forms be they in Venezuela, Lebanon, France, or Egypt. These four countries are worlds apart but have in common the way in which they display, market and sell their goods. Upon visiting a souk in Syria, a mercado in Venezuela or a marché in the Cote D'Azur this is obvious.
