  • Oct. 28, 1988 - Los Angeles, California - USA - Los Angeles Dodgers Pitcher Orel Hersheiser hoists the World Series trophy during a World Series Victory Parade in downtown Los Angeles on Oct. 28, 1988. The Dodgers beat the Oakland Athletics in the 1988 World Series. In 1988<br /> Hershiser put together one of the best single seasons in pitching history in 1988. That year, he led the league in wins (23), innings (267), and complete games (15). He finished the season with a record 59 consecutive scoreless innings pitched, breaking the mark held by Dodger great Don Drysdale. He also won his first Gold Glove.
