My dream is my illness, says Tarek, 26 y.o., five years in Spain illegaly and recently deported back to Morocco, and now in Tangier trying again at the traffic light along the road to the port to hide inside a truck. And like him, there are hundreds here with his same dream, coming from every corner of Morocco till the door to Europe, Tangier, the most hostile to cross, as here they have to face with the Tangerin people who don't bother them as roamers and beggars,with a police that when is time to clean the city hit and push far away and call them failed migrants, with the cold, the stressed drivers, the gangs; they are 15 to 30 years old; over is rare as the strenght of the body fails. Most of them have tried 3,4 times, some have already spent years in Euroland others just days, but still keep their dream, if and when Allah wants, he will be able to hide in a truck and pass quietly the borders, but nothing will stop them, only death. They are power dreamers, but still cry when they are deported and sent back to start again from zero, alone, without a family to visit for not feeling the shame of the failure, without someone to trust their feelings, fears, pain, and so they stay here, roaming in the city until the pain is gone and the dream light up again.
