But apart from a few developed sites like Ifaty, near Tulear, Nosy Be to the north, Ste-Marie and Foulpointe on the east coast, the main activities are still, fishing and coal exploitation of the forest...Some species like lobster have seen overfishing even with traditional way like spear fishing, wich was beleive to be less intensive by locals.   • June 2004 - Toujenne, Tunisia. Toujenne is an ancient berber village with still around 500 habitants. Every year, a couple of family leave the village because life is very hard up in these mountains. Rain is rare, the winters are cold and windy and the rocky house are not heated. Anyhow, a little group of habitant like Bechir Asnaoui are fighting so their village survive. A couple of year ago, the governement built a communal water tank to help villager to collect water. But many times a day, children and women are walking to the tank to bring back the water needed for a few hours...A team of young nurses is in Tunisia to travel on camels in the Sahara, and get to Algerian nomads refugees. The algerian refugees live in the desert with their camels and sheeps herd and have no access to health care. Hundreds of Rabayas families crossed the borders during the algerian civil war and have a traditional way of life. . By photographer Marc-Andre Pauze
