,,The destruction of the organic social networks in Honduras in 1980s has created huge challenges for Honduras" says Rosalina Castro, communication officer of UNICEF Honduras.

After the international convention of children rights(UNCRC) was created in 1990, UNICEF Honduras focused on the development of an active participation of children and young people in the communities. During that time started the idea of a network of juvenile communicators.

20 years after it's creation the network of youth communicators has spread out in the country with a variety of actions and events. It is the most stabled in the region and has been replicated by neighboring countries. In Honduras there are 73 networks of juvenile communicators supported by UNICEF. In their programs the children discuss and highlight topics like their rights to education or living in a clean environment. One of the most successful projects is the weekly news program ,,TVC Infantil" on Canal 5.

14 year old Lesby Ramos from Tegucigalpa.

Lesby lives with her mom and 4 sisters in one of the poorest neighborhoods of Tegucigalpa.

Her recent report is about the pollution of the rivers in Tegucigalpa. Eduardo points the camera to the trash at the shores of the river to let people see what's the situation. Lesby talkes with some kids about their opinion. . Later they find a scrappy house under a bridge where homeless people live. The day concludes with an interview with the secretary of environment of Tegucigalpa. Lesby says the thing she likes most about the reports and the projects is that she and her friends can express their point of view for a wide audience.
