Browser Compatibility

Due to the extensive use of the latest web technologies in PhotoShelter, we strongly recommend using only up-to-date versions of standards-compliant web browsers. The use of an obsolete or non-standard browser may result in unpredictable or non-functional behavior of the PhotoShelter web application.
As a general rule, we recommend the latest stable release of the Mozilla Firefox web browser. At this time, the most recent stable release is 3.0. We do not recommend using "beta" or "alpha" development releases.
More specific recommendations based on operating system are shown below.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or 7 are also supported. Versions earlier than 6.0 are no longer supported.
Netscape 8 and Opera are largely untested at this time and not supported.
Mac OS X versions earlier than 10.2 are not supported due to the relative lack of browser support. If you are still using Mac OS X 10.1, your best bet may be a version of Camino that is compatible with 10.1.
Opera is largely untested and not supported at this time. Camino is based on the same technology as Mozilla Firefox and should be compatible, but is untested at this time.

On Windows-based PCs
Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or later is recommended. The earlier versions 2.0 & 1.5 are still compatible at this time but no longer tested; we highly recommend keeping up-to-date with the latest version of Firefox. Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or 7 are also supported. Versions earlier than 6.0 are no longer supported.
Netscape 8 and Opera are largely untested at this time and not supported.
On Mac OS X computers
Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or later is recommended. Firefox 2 is still compatible but no longer tested. We highly recommend keeping up-to-date with the latest version of Firefox.
Firefox requires Mac OS X 10.2 ("Jaguar") or later.
Microsoft Internet Explorer for Mac is no longer a current browser and is not supported.
Support for Apple Safari depends on Mac OS X version:
- Mac OS X 10.5 ("Leopard"): Safari 3 is included and supported.
- Mac OS X 10.4 ("Tiger"): Safari 3 is available via Mac OS X Update 10.4.11 and is supported. Safari 2 is no longer tested and will not be supported in the future.
- Mac OS X 10.3 ("Panther"): the last version of Safari (1.3) is not supported.
- Mac OS X 10.2 ("Jaguar"): the last version of Safari (1.03) is not supported.
Mac OS X versions earlier than 10.2 are not supported due to the relative lack of browser support. If you are still using Mac OS X 10.1, your best bet may be a version of Camino that is compatible with 10.1.

On Linux Computers
Full compatibility in Linux is not guaranteed due to varying levels of application support (e.g.. Adobe Flash). Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or later is the only recommended browser. Other browsers are untested and not supported at this time.
