Image Statistics

Overview

It is often helpful to know which images are being viewed by users to determine what types of imagery are popular, controversial, etc. PhotoShelter provides you with a way to view how many times someone has viewed your image in the public-areas of the site (i.e. not by you).

Statistics are available for an individual image when viewing it from "Archive" or "Galleries"

Each time someone views the large screen resolution image, whether in a gallery or through the results of an image search, PhotoShelter increments a counter for that image. You can view the statistics for an image in a variety of ways:
  • From a gallery
  • From your archive
  • From the Image Statistics list under the "My Website" tab

The top 100 images are viewable under the "My Account" tab.

Are thumbnails considered as an image view?

No, a user must click on an image and view the larger size for it to be counted as a "view."

Is there any way to reset the counter for an image?

No, the counter for the image is permanent.

If I add an image to a gallery, is that counter different from the one in my archival folders?

No. Any single image that is copied to a gallery(s), has a single counter.

Is there a way to see which image the stat is referring to without clicking on the image name?

If you move your mouse over the image name, a thumbnail of that image will appear.
